Who can become regular member?

Students who have taken admission for Management Programmes at IMS can become regular member of the Library for that academic year.

I am external post graduate student of the University of Pune. Can I avail the library book lending facility?

No, book lending facility is not allowed for non-IMS Students.

Can I use library for a short period of time?

Yes, under Extension Service, the researchers can avail the facility for three months /year against nominal deposits and library charges. Recommendation from concerned authority is a must.

Can you tell me Photocopy charges per page? What can be Photocopied ?

Photocopy facility is available in the library itself. Photocopy charges are Rs.1/ page. Entire book cannot be photocopied. Journal / Periodical articles can be photocopied. Ph.D. Thesis and Dissertations cannot be photocopied.

How many Library cards are issued and what is the periodicity?

Three Library cards are issued from circulation counter for a week’s period. Books, Journals/Periodicals, projects, CDs etc. are available for issue-return. Book bank facility (FREE) can be availed by students.

Is Library clearance necessary?

Yes library clearance is absolutely necessary as examination hall tickets will not be issued from the Administrative / Office window.

What Information Literacy Programme do the Library conducts?

The student centric programmes are Author Speaks ( Book talk show), Book / Photo exhibition, Lecture series, Orientation and library tour, best practices like Essay writing competition and Best user Award, important days celebration.

Can I donate books to the Library and what is the process?

Yes, books can be donated to library. They are scrutinized by concerned faculty and selected ones are accessioned (enrolled) in the library. A thank you cum appreciation letter is dispatched to the donor.

Can student be part of the library activity?

Yes, Students can become member of the “Student Library Committee “or can voluntarily avail their services. Library lent’s platform to users to hone their leadership skills and practicing management principles.

How do I suggest the library without getting in to the picture?

Students can put their remarks and suggestions into the suggestion box which is opened on every working Monday and problem areas are subjected to immediate action. Students can fill in the library questionnaire to elaborate their requirements which is subjected to further analysis and action.

What is the penalty for losing a book?

User needs to replace the books or/and pay the current price with postage charges.

What is the late fee for delayed return?

The late fees is 5/- per day which is subjected to change. Genuine problem like medical, mishap will be entertained against proof signed by HODs of concerned programme.

What are the Library timings during examination period?

The two spacious reading hall timings are extended till late evening with prior permission from the Director and case followed by the Librarian.

Can the IMS Students avail library facility during summer vacation / break?

No, the library is conducting annual stocktaking so the library is closed for operational purpose.

What are Library timings?

Library is functional from 10.00 am- 5:30 pm for operational purpose on weekdays and toll 2.00pm on Saturday. Reading hall timings are modified subjected to schedule of University examination.

Can the IMS Lib user place a request/requisition for a book?

Yes, the user can place order through HODs /Librarian/entry into the requisition register placed at circulation counter without any faculty recommendation.
